Listening to/watching: Forget Me Not - 2009

Yes. This, ^ , Is my daughter.
She is the most goddamned beautiful thing I've ever seen. EVER. Be in awe of her. She will be a powerful person in the future. Better get on your hands and knees now.
So Jameson was born on 2-1 at 2:44 pm. She weighed 6 lbs 7 oz. and was 18 & 1/4 inches. Ten fingers, ten toes. Fucking beautiful. BOW.
So here's what happened.... at least to the best of my recollection.
SO - Come tuesday 31st - 7:00 AM - I am awakened by Molly squeezing my hand... she is mid-contraction. Molly at this point, is concinced that it is today that she will give birth. I happen to have an interview at 10 am that morning... and we had had a... "disagreement" the night before. And by that i mean i got smashed and didnt really talk much to her for the remainder of the night. (thats... welll, thats another story). Anyways, so lack of sleep is altready on the table.
The interview, I assumed, went well, (but i am STILL unemployed) and I returned home to search for more jobs. During the course of the day we (TMI) had sex twice inbetween mollys naps... however, if those of you didnt know, semen is one of the catalysts for beginning labor. So woo. Anyways -
We continued about the day - we went on an errand run (I needed seeds and She needed some Phish Food). On the way back we ran and grabbed annie from her place and then we hung out at the house. (forunately annie brought an overnight bag with her) So we watched a few movies and halfway between the second or third one (cant remember which) molly began to have "gas pains" or so she thought. We started timing them, shortly after Annie went to lay down and Mary went to bed. They werent gas pains. DERP.
So I went and woke up annie, attempted to wake mary up, packed and preheated the car and then we were off to the hospital. It was around 2 or 3 in the morning when we got there. We checked in and got situated in a waiting area... sorta. It was recieving or something like that. Anyways, we were in there for i think roughly 2 or 3 hours. She wasnt dialated past 3 cm until the nurse checked before she was going to send us home. Then she said that our Doctor would be in to break her water to help get things moving faster.
We transfer to the birthing room, annie in tow, and get molly settled in. So at this point I've had about a total of 2 hours sleep the last 24 hours. Molly is progressing slowly so i mention that i'll be napping over on the couch that was inside the room. I couldnt have been down for more than 30 mins when the contractions were starting to pick up again. So i get back up and go back by the bedside. Annie and I hadn't eaten much of anything recently either other than a few almonds and shit. Anyways, I lay down next to molly on the gurney or whatever the hospital beds are called and we attempt to sleep inbetween contractions, that is until i hear a loud pop. Her water broke. On its own. :)
Now its around 6 or 7 in the morning, family members begin to show up, and the contractions are getting closer together. Still no doctor we've been seeing for the last nine months. However another doctor comes in and pulls out the remaining membrane (cause it broke funny or something) from molly. The RN that was on call for our room however, was a fucking badass. her name was Mary. An older lady who had been "assisting" births for 30+ years. So she'd intermittenly come in and check on molly every hour or so. At a certain point, we got the birthing ball (its like a giant medicine ball) and had molly bounce on that (which was a fucking magic trick the first time), we would walk molly over to the window, get her in the shower, etc. Whatever we could do to speed things along, we did.
So around 12:45 or so, we FINALLY see our doctor. He comes in and says (and this isnt how he said it exactly, but this is how I heard it) "We need to get this baby out so she can be safe. We have three options, we drug you with Pitocin, we drug you with an epidural, or we cut this baby out via cecarian." Which was actually NOT ON THE LIST OF THINGS THAT WERE HAPPENING. So the doc gave molly an hour to get things going better.
The nurse came in around 1:30 to check on molly because she actually said, she felt like she couldnt help but push at this point. Mary came in and actually PUSHED the cervix back so Jameson's head could start to come through. Thus begins the pushing. At some point before the doc came in I was sent to retrieve Michael so he could rub mollys back. He wound up staying for the whole thing which was good.
Here's how it went. At some point Mary said she could see the head, which I did see. The whole time Annie, Michael, and myself were coaching molly along to help her get Jameson out. The final push happened suddenly, and i missed it. The doctor was supposed to be in the room quite some time ago, and as molly was pushing I heard the door open, the doctor say "I'm here" and as I turned around to see him coming through the door I head a schlupping sound and then the sound of my daughter crying. I look back and there she is.
Jameson Stella Bailey Grossman was born at 2:44 pm on 2-1-12. She weighed 6 lbs 7 oz and was 18 1/4" long. The most beautiful thing I've ever fucking seen in my whole life.
We remained in the hospital for 48 hours. Molly had some bladder issues, involving TWO cathaders and an ultra sound. Not fun. However a large number of our friends and family managed to make it up to the hospital with food (I was unable to eat for free unlike molly) so i had some pretty good treats. THANKS GUYS!!
Anyways, shes now almost two weeks old, Im readjusting to my new sleep schedule (which there isn't one) and am STILL unfotunately unemployed. I have however gotten quite a bit accomplished around the house which is good. Just wish I was getting paid for it is all.
Anyways, the animals have all pretty much adjusted, and Molyl and I are getting there too. I'm so glad shes finally here and I can finally hold her instead of molly.
Gunna write up some reviews now, since shes kinda sleepin. Heh.
So until next time...
ROAST!
